Making an old dress more interesting

Making an old dress more interesting

A new design for an old op-shop dress

Auntie K found a $2 dress in an op shop. It was a little plain, but was pumpkin patch so a decent quality. She decided to buy it for our 4 year old daughter, and we decided to make it a little more interesting.

At first we decided on a design of a Rhino pretending to be a Unicorn, which our daughter didn’t like; so we then went through the list of designs to pick one that she did like.

The conversation went a little like this…

  • I want that one…
  • Scroll…
  • No! I want THAT one…
  • Scroll…
  • No! THAT one…
  • Repeat…

After about 15 times she decided that she actually wanted the first one of the butterfly. So that’s what we did. Stitched in a pale pink to match the existing stitching on the dress.
